Salad tongs

Why do ordinary salad tongs have long awkward handles and spaces for gunk to collect?  We redesigned these salad tongs to be easier to use and easier to clean, then used them for a year in our own kitchen, so we know you’ll love them.

Every pair of salad tongs we make are hand cut from regionally sourced maple, cherry, and walnut.  They are then hand-sanded, moisture-treated to raise the grain, then re-sanded for a silky smooth texture.  Each pair then receives a penetrating food-safe mineral oil treatment followed by a hand-rubbed application of Mattlin wood conditioner, which is a combination of organic beeswax and mineral oil.

(Repeated exposure to moisture will eventually re-raise the wood grain.  If this happens, simply re-sand with 220 grit sandpaper and reapply food grade mineral oil or, even better, Mattlin wood conditioner)

Spatulas

In our house, cooking is sacred.  Just like the use of good tools adds joy to woodworking, the use of good kitchen tools brings joy to the act of cooking.  Our spatulas are beautiful, durable and ergonomic (we even make them for lefties).

Other fun stuff

The best thing about being a small family business is that if we have an idea, we can run with it.
